Official presentation of the IBBF 2025

A unique event to deseasonalise the season

Today, the Cap Vermell Cultural Centre hosted the press conference to present the IB Ballooning Festival 2025 (IBBF2025), an event that once again puts the municipality of Capdepera at the centre of the international tourism and sports scene. The event was attended by Mireia Ferrer, Mayor of Capdepera; Jordi Aracil, Festival Director; Maria Mir, representative of the Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, the official venue for the event; and Agripina Rocha.

During the presentation, the speakers highlighted the importance of the festival as a key tool for deseasonalising tourism. As Mayor Mireia Ferrer explained, the municipality ‘is firmly committed to unique events that generate identity and attract visitors outside the high season.’ She also stressed that the IBBF ‘is an event that is not organised in any other municipality, which makes it a distinguishing feature of the local offering.’

For his part, Jordi Aracil detailed some aspects of the agenda planned for the 2025 edition, which will include balloon flights, parallel activities open to the public and international promotional activities. Aracil stressed that the festival ‘not only projects the image of Mallorca abroad, but also has a direct economic and social impact on the area’.

The representative of the Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, Maria Mir, expressed her satisfaction at hosting the event again, emphasising that the establishment ‘is renewing its commitment to initiatives that add value to the destination and promote public-private collaboration’.

They also highlighted the festival's ability to attract numerous visitors and participating teams, consolidating its position as an essential event in the Balearic Islands' calendar.

The organisers agreed that IBBF2025 will reinforce Capdepera's visibility as a pioneering municipality in hosting exclusive events, with a proposal that combines tourism, sport, landscape and international projection.
